Sometimes there is only a small difference between “keeping the momentum going” and flogging a dead horse.
As a leader, manager and sales person, 80% if not more of your time goes to motivating people: posting pictures of team building moments on social media to share the joy and to cheer on your employees; making calls to suppliers asking about their family so they keep giving you preferential service; inviting customers to lunch so they keep you top of mind…
SPARK OF THE DAY
How often are you invited out to lunch, getting tagged in a post or called just to get asked how you’re doing? Relationships are about give and take, also in business.
If that employee can’t get motivated, that supplier makes you always get the short end of the stick or that customer keeps giving you breadcrumbs for business with the promise of more, so really only uses you to benchmark, maybe it is time to let go and spend your energy where it is appreciated…
You need to be inspired too!
