I sometimes wonder why we have so few entrepreneurs not only in Kenya but (East) Africa as a whole. I am not counting the traders and tenderpreneurs, of them there are plenty. It is just they rarely add something new to the market, rather more of the same.
There are more than enough people with great ideas, so I don’t think creativity is the issue here. The question is more: what do all those people will great ideas do with them. I am afraid the answer is: no so much. People are very happy
SPARK OF THE DAY
“To invent, you have to experiment, and if you know in advance that it’s going to work, it’s not an experiment.” ~ Jeff Bezos, CEO & Founder Amazon
There is comfort in the predictable. That’s why most great ideas don’t see the light of day. As an entrepreneur your life is one big experiment, from starting up to staying relevant to growing to scale – you’ve always after the deemed impossible.
A life few actualise, but everyone seems jealous of. Just realise how special you are as an entrepreneur!
