If you can’t be bothered to do a good job, then don’t take it on in the first place!

Something that has been bothering me in working with creatives and developers, is the lack of energy they show with the follow up once a project is launched. Of course, everybody can have a bad day, week or even month sometimes; and life during lockdown is not easy on anyone either.

I do think there is something more systemic at play here though: a disconnect between the time they will spend on the project including the value they provide, and the fee they ask for – often on the low end as they fear to quote their worth.

A disconnect I think many entrepreneurs can relate to, including the disengagement to getting a committed job done…

SPARK OF THE DAY

Any creative, developer or entrepreneur not fully committed not only harms their own reputation, but equally affects the impacted business where the job doesn’t get done (well)…

So if you can’t be bothered to work on a project, why not:
a) ask more money so you’re rewarded for the time required so as to do a good job or b) just say no: don’t take on a project you don’t see the benefit of
