Legend has it that American speed skater and olympic gold medalist Shani Davis had a picture of one of his biggest rivals – the Dutchman Erben Wennemars – on his fridge to remind him, any time he wanted to take a snack, that there was a bigger goal to keep fit for.

Every time he would see the picture he would ask himself: “Would Erben (stoop this low and) do this?”.
