Challenge solved doesn’t equal challenge completed!

You may have noticed I failed to send out my Daily Spark yesterday. Not because I didn’t write one… no, I actually did. It was that final step of “convert written to typed text then copy then send” I missed out on. You could see it as a trivial “oh, that just happens”, but I fear there may have been more going on…

One of the things that most entrepreneurs have in common is that we love a challenge. And once that challenge is solved, we move on to the next challenge: be it landing a new client, or solving an operational problem, or in this case: writing my daily spark.

I think I lapsed into thinking that “spark written” equaled “spark sent”, hence it disappeared from my “challenges to complete” list. I notice I have that same frame of mind when it comes to designing a new program (my translation of developing a new product) or sharing feedback on exercises with people. The bulk of the effort is with the creative thinking (=challenge) where I never know when the cognizant breakthrough will happen – and hence I forget to allocate time for the practical follow up after.

SPARK OF THE DAY

Challenge “solved” doesn’t equal challenge “completed”… just because it’s no longer a challenge, that doesn’t mean it’s off our plate before we complete on the delivery and execution.

It’s as simple as that!
