Imagine you’re a fashion designer and you’re walking through a shopping mall wearing one of your own creations. You have several customers walking up to you asking you where you bought it. You proudly say you made it yourself, hence they ask a next question: how much would it cost for them to buy or order one. You hesitate… thoughts start racing through your mind: you don’t want to price yourself out of their price range! Your train of thought has been easy to follow from the expressions on your face, and the potential customers start to change their mind.
Damn! Another missed opportunity!
What if you would have been more assertive… what if instead of getting into a cramp in answer to their question where you bought it, you proudly say that you started creating yourself since you were also struggling to find affordable high quality designs at an affordable price. You show them the neatness of the stitching and have them feel the material… nice!

The pricing question is the single most dreaded by entrepreneurs, not just by Eve who lived the above story. Many entrepreneurs lack the confidence and don’t feel worthy of their ask…
If that’s you as well: why not try to change your narrative? Start by sharing your value and take control of the conversation – even before pricing has come to mind. If you’re able to set the reference, you don’t give customers a chance to doubt.
Easier said then done, but practice makes King (or Queen) ?
