Working hard is one thing, but what do you get out of it?

The other day I stumbled upon my old – well, what shall I call it – pitch deck? Visual business plan? Mood-board in powerpoint format? The document was 7 years old and looked very dated, which I guess is a good sign, as that means we have been making serious progress towards growing our company over the past few years.
The one thing I realised that was missing from my “founders document”, was a reference to when I would regard my adventure starting The Entrepreneurs Hub as a success, or a failure. In the document I had described everything from vision and mission to growth plan with number of employees, customers, branches and how much revenue the company would be generating. But there was nothing about me. What return I wanted out of starting the company.
And to be honest, even 7 years later, I have to say that that question hadn’t even crossed my mind up to now!
SPARK OF THE DAY
As a founder we start a business because we see an opportunity and we define a vision and mission to guide us towards that true north… but they mean nothing without accountability, both in business but also personal.
With what goal did you start your business? To be able to share your passion with others? To have an impact on the world? To be financially independent?
What is the end-game you are working towards?
